James Conor Gibaldi is presently a graduate student of neuroscience and education at Teachers College-Columbia University completing his studies toward the M.S. degree in May 2015. He will begin his studies toward a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in September 2015.
James has also been serving as a Research Assistant at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City within the department of Neurological Surgery. He has administered preseason neuropsychological batteries for the New York Jets (U.S. professional football team) and the New York Islanders (U.S. professional hockey team). Assisted with the testing and research for an NFL/GE funded concussion study on neuroinflammation, and serving as co-investigator with Dr. Kenneth Perrine in a study of concussion symptoms and recovery. James has participated in a gross blunt human brain dissection through the Surgical Innovations Laboratory for the Skull Base Microsurgery at Weill Cornell Medical College, and wrote an IRB proposal investigating the effects of concussion on high school athletes.
James is presently investigating neurological and neuropsychological changes that occur to those that are involved in space travel and is awaiting acceptance to a summer program sponsored and supported by NASA.
