Maria Morant received the Ph.D. degree in Telecommunication Engineering in 2012 from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), Spain. Since 2006 she is collaborating with the Communications Department (DCOM) of UPV in the Nanophotonics Technology Center (NTC).
Her current research areas include advanced optical techniques for communication and biomedical applications. She has been involved in several research projects funded by the European Commission dealing with optical communications, such as FP7 ICT-4-249142 FIVER and FP7-IST-216785 UCELLS coordinated by UPV. She is currently the principal investigator of UPV research project OESED.
In education, she is interested in active learning methodologies and has implemented several novel teaching techniques at UPV Engineering degrees using new information and communication technologies (ICTs) for more effective lecturing.
