Ann Mutvei is a senior lecturer at Södertörn University. She got a PhD in biochemistry 1988 at the Stockholm University and spent three years as a postdoc at the EMBL (European molecular biology laboratory), Heidelberg, Germany. After the postdoctoral period she started her own research group working on the characterization of nuclear envelope proteins in yeast. She has been responsible for one of the pre-service primary school teacher program at Södertörn University and is mainly teaching within teacher training programs in courses in science and science didactics.
The last 10 years she has been involved in the development of science education with teaching based on evolutionary perspective. She is interested in the development of methods for performance assessment, for training of observations and in using conceptual profile to understand development of the students and their learning outcome. She has been involved in the development of a new tool for evaluating the quality of teaching and learning and is currently involved in several EU projects..
