Alessandra Renieri is a PhD students in Mathematics at the University of Camerino (MC).
She graduated at the University of Camerino in 2012 with a thesis on Knot theory. Today her research field is the Low Dimensional Topology and the Math Education for pre-school children.
She is a member of the Matematita Centre (a Interuniversitary research centre for the communication and the informal learning of Mathematics, based in the universities
of Milano Statale, Milano Bicocca, Pisa and Trento). Since last summer there is
a new branch of this centre also in Camerino. She is in the team of XlaTangente web periodical with the column "Matecosmo".
In July she co-curated (with Prof. A. Capozucca) the project VereMath Street
for the VeregraStreet Festival, under the aegis of the Commune di Montegranaro and the IC of Montegranaro. It was set up an exhibit that last one week,
math walks for children and a Math Busking show. The exhibit illustrated the
laboratorial-path occurred in March at the IC of Montegranaro and it was re-presented last November at the BIM -Il mondo dei piccoli, 2nd Event on Education for children at the Fermo Forum.
She is the University referent for a project together with the Istituto comprensivo in Montegranaro, called "Laboratori informali di matematica" financed by the School itself for 17 classes of the Elementary school and more than 30 teachers.
She is actually working also in another project on Dance and Mathematics with Dr. Ilaria Giancamilli and Silvia Benvenuti. There is a research on body cognition and
math education for pre-school children going on and a called "Intrecci" choreographed by Ilaria Giancamilli.
