New Perspectives in Science Education

Director and Principal advisor to Vidya Vanam, the school for tribal and under privileged children, operated by the Bhuvana Foundation, Mrs. Rangachary has extensive background and experience in education of children and adults. After completing her Masters in English from Madras University, she taught in both high schools and at Ethiraj College, Chennai. She was trained in Oxford, UK, to teach English as a second language. She has conducted numerous workshops on speaking and writing English in the modern world to middle management in the corporate world, and devised novel tools to teach children from various cultural and economic backgrounds. Recently she has played a key role in the development of the Balwadi program in and around Anaikatti and has since assumed a key role in the development of Vidya Vanam. Mrs. Rangachary is an adhoc reviewer of books for "The Hindu" and contributed articles for their magazine section. Mrs. Rangachary continues to train teachers, challenging conventional methods of imparting knowledge.
