Catarina Mangas has a degree in Primary Education, Master in Supervision, Specialization in Special Education, Cognitive and Motor Domain and PhD in Education - Teacher Training, with a thesis in the area of Specific Learning Difficulties. Currently is lecturing Professional Higher Courses (CTeSP), Graduates and Masters.
She is responsible for the coordination of Inclusion and Accessibility in Action Research Centre (iACT) and effective member of Educational and Development Research Unit. His main areas of interest are Special Educational Needs (SEN); Language and Communication Sciences, particularly in the field of Specific Learning Difficulties and Language Disorders.

• Professor and coordinator of different subjects in the areas of inclusion and accessibility, education; language and communication sciences
• Trainer in professional courses and workshops
• Integrated member of the Interdisciplinary Centre of Social Sciences Research Unit (CICS.NOVA.IPLeiria) and collaborate member in the Centre for Studies in Education and Innovation (CI&DEI).
• Member of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria Ethic Committee
• Member of the Scientific Committee of the Master on Accessible Communication
• Supervision of Master Dissertations, Projects and Internships
• Participation on national and international juries for academic examinations
• Organisation and participation in national and international events including conferences, seminars and scientific workshops
