New Perspectives in Science Education

John is based at the school of chemistry at Trinity College Dublin. He divides his time between the university and the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) as a Chemistry Education Coordinator for Ireland. He is also the project coordinator in Ireland for the Spectroscopy in a Suitcase programme, which is funded by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) and the RSC. He has previously taught science at primary, secondary and higher level and currently coordinates a postgraduate module for research students called "Chemistry Outreach: Development and Practice". He also develops chemistry education resources for Irish teachers and for public engagement events. He has written numerous pieces for many Irish and UK publications about science education mainly in a secondary school context.
