Dr Christine McDonald is a lecturer in Science Education in the School of Education and Professional Studies, Griffith University, Australia.
She is committed to increasing the scientific literacy of all learners; and providing novel, engaging and cognitively appropriate pedagogical practices to enable teachers to effectively design and implement contemporary science lessons.
Her research interests include science teacher education, nature of science understandings, argumentation in science, and science as a human endeavour.
She received her PhD focused on nature of science and argumentation in 2008, and since that time has published her doctoral research in Journal of Research in Science Teaching (2010), Second International Handbook of Science Education (2012), and Science Education International (2013).
She is a member of the editorial board for Science Education International, and is the Australia/Asia Pacific Representative for the International Council of Associations for Science Education (ICASE).
