Maria A. Vlachou works as a Chemistry teacher at a private school in Greece where she teaches in the Greek Programme and in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. She holds a Master of Science in Chemical Analysis & Quality Control from University of Athens and a Master of Arts in Educational Assessment from UCL Institute of Education. She has undertaken many courses about assessment, critical thinking, science and counselling theories in education.
Her research and academic interests lie in formative, summative and international assessment policy, teachers’ classroom innovative practices, and extra curriculum activities. She has presented several educational scenarios in school events and Greek conferences and is a member of the Curriculum Development Committee of the Association of Greek Chemists.
At this conference she will present part of her research conducted in the frame of her Master of Arts in Educational Assessment.
