Suzanne Kapelari is Professor in Biology and Environmental Education and Head of the Science, Geography, Computer Science and Mathematics Education Group at the Department of Subject-Specific Education at the University of Innsbruck, Austria.
She was and is a coordinator and/or partner of European Projects funded by the 6th (www.plantscafe.net), 7th Framework (www.inquirebotany.org) and H2020 Framework (BigPicnic: www.bigpicnic.net) as well as Eramus+ projects.
Suzanne Kapelari holds a PhD (University Innsbruck, Austria, Biology), a MA (City College of the City University, New York, USA, Master of Arts in Education), a Master Degree in Biology and Environmental Education (University Innsbruck, Austria ) and a qualification for a teaching career in higher education (Habilitation) in Science Education.
She has taught Biology and Environmental Education at high schools for a couple of years and is currently lecturing at the University of Innsbruck.
In 2013 she worked as a visiting researcher at Kings College London, UK for four month. 2014-17 she was Assistant Professor for Biology Education at the University of Vienna, Austria.
Suzanne is active in the international conference circuit and has been invited on several occasions to talk about Inquiry-based Science Education, Learning Outside the Classroom (e.g. Botanic Gardens) and Science Education for a Sustainable Development.
