I have been a science educator for 12 years. I started my career as a high school Biology teacher. For the past 7 years, I have worked for Penn State Center for Science and the Schools (CSATS) as an Assistant Teaching Professor in Science Education. At CSATS, I work with science and engineering faculty to develop and implement professional development programs for secondary educators based on current cutting edge research happening at Penn State. My professional goal is to build professional development programs for Biology teachers that helps in-service teachers to better understand the scientific practices of biologists with a focus on the ways biologists engage in the practice of using and developing models in their work.
