Martin Jáč is a research assistant at Palacký University Olomouc, Faculty of Education, Department of Biology. He graduated in biology and geography at the Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague and during his Ph.D. studies he focused on molecular basis of circadian rhythmicity in mammals.
With ten years of teaching experience at the grammar school, he is currently involved in biology education research (didactics of biology). His research interests are inquiry-based biology education, assessment of students´ laboratory skills, study of factors that motivate students to study biology and qualitative research of biology instruction. Since 2010 he is actively involved in the organization of the Czech Biology Olympiad as an advisor for didactics of biology.
