Dr. Siobhán O' Sullivan is an Assistant Professor in Molecular Biology and Genetics in The College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS) at Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, UAE.
In 2019, Siobhán joined CMHS as the Director of Medical Education where she was involved in the development and accreditation of the MD program. She is course director of two pre-clinical courses on the MD program: Molecules, Genes and Cells and Microbiology & Infectious Disease.
Siobhán has a PhD in Biochemistry and Microbiology from University College Cork (UCC), Ireland. She earned a first-class honor Masters in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education from UCC, in 2007.
In 2023, she was awarded Senior Fellow of Advance Higher Education in the UK. Her research interests are Biochemistry and Genetics (population genetics and Type 2 Diabetes), Microbiology (Antimicrobial Resistance) and education.
In 2023, Siobhán was awarded the Khalifa University Excellence in Teaching Award.
