Dorit Granot

Dorit is the director of International Programs for high achieving youth at the Davidson Institute of Science Education, the educational arm of the Weizmann Institute of Science.

Dorit has completed her undergraduate studies and M.Sc in biochemistry at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She then continued for graduate studies and completed her PhD in Molecular Imaging at the Weizmann Institute of Science. After graduation, she moved with her family to the United States and became a post-doctoral research fellow at Yale University School of Medicine in CT. She conducted her research on developing MRI methodology for single cell detection for the study of cancer microenvironment and neural stem cell migration, as well as MR reporter systems. She is an author of several scientific papers publish in high tier scientific journals. After working at Yale University as an Associate Research Scientist, Dorit moved back to Israel and joined the biotech industry as the director of medical cannabis division, at Panaxia Pharmaceuticals Industries, Lod, Israel. After a few years in the industry, she went back to the academia earned her teaching certificate at the Weizmann Institute of Science and joined the Davidson Institute of Science Education in 2016.

Areas of expertise: molecular imaging, in vivo MRI, cancer biology, molecular biology, Curriculum Development biochemistry, high achievement students.
