Georgeta Chirleșan

Georgeta Chirleşan is Associate Professor at the University of Piteşti. Between 2003 -2011 she was the director of the International Relations Office.

She graduated Physics at the University of Bucharest in 1987. Since 2001 she holds a PhD in Physics of the Solid State.

Between 1987 and 1998 she taught Physics in lower and upper secondary schools. From 1998 to 2013 she taught Physics at the University of Piteşti (Physics of the Solid State, General Physics, Electricity and Magnetism).

In 2011 she obtained a PhD in Political Sciences/International Relations. From 2005 onwards she teaches also Theories of the International Relations, Institutions of the European Union, Political Institutions, European Institutions and Administration, Projects Management, Team Work at the University of Piteşti.

She is an expert in evaluation, member of the Romanian National Service for Evaluation and Assessment, LLL and VET tools and methods developer. She published 34 books, 49 articles in specialty reviews and 55 scientific papers in national and international conferences. The themes of her research and projects cover pedagogy and science education, VET training, didactic assessment, adult education, Physics, EU policies and strategies, social and labour market inclusion, sustainable and regional development, security and stability. She is also a VET trainer and trainer of trainers. She is a founding member of the Research Centre for Promoting Excellency in Professional Training (accredited by CNCSIS in 2005). She is the Director of the Center for Designing Sustainable Development Projects of the University of Pitesti.

Georgeta Chirleşan is an expert in designing and implementing European projects focusing on the areas of education, training, social development, culture, sciences. So far, she has been involved as coordinator or team member in more than 120 projects funded by the European Commission (TEMPUS, PHARE, LLP – all sectoral programmes and Key actions, Jean Monnet, Youth in Action, European Social Fund – Romania, Erasmus+) or in research projects funded by the European Union (FP6, FP7, H2020) and by the Romanian state (PN2, PN3).

Georgeta Chirleşan was a visiting professor at European Universities (University of Genova in Italy in 2007, Odense Tekniske Skole in Denmark in 2007, “St. Kiril and St. Methodius” University of Veliko Turnovo in Bulgaria in 2009 to 2019, Polytechnic Institute of Braganca in Portugal in 2009, 2010, 2011). In 2017-2019 she also taught intensive courses in universities from Tomsk (Russian Federation), Minsk (Belarus), Mansoura (Egypt) and Teheran (Iran).

She is member of: the Programme Committee in the 2nd Thematic Conference “Lifelong Learning – ePortfolios and Open Content” 2007; Scientific Secretary of the International Conference ecoMEDIA Europe “ICT Strategies in European Schools - the Romanian Perspective” 2007; the Programme Committee in the IADIS International Conference e-Society 2007, 2008, 2009; the Romanian Physics Society; the Scientific Committee of the International Conference „Edu-World: Education facing contemporary world issues” (2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018); ; the Scientific Committee of the International Conference “COFRET: Colloque Francophone en Energie, Environnement, Economie et Thermodynamique” (2020).
