Abstract

The Brazilian educational reality in the 21st century is linked on the transformations occurred in the years 1990 arising from the new international division of labor, among them, we have seen the progress of globalization  and the technological innovations that allowed greater efficiency in the production process, minimizing errors and accelerating the production.

In the face of this new world order, the international agencies began to guide changes on the structures and functioning of education aimed at ensuring the elevation of the human capital and social capital to levels compatible with the global dynamics.

From addition, there have been major educational reforms that until today influence the way of thinking about education in Brazil. The main changes were the National Curricular Parameters and also the Law of Educational Foundations and Guidelines, both introduced novelties organizational and design in the Brazilian educational system. In general, the changes in this field are based on the major international proposals, especially in the UNESCO report, entitled “Education: a treasure to discover”.

Whereas these presuppositions, this paper investigates the main Brazilian strategies in the educational field to answer the international recommendations, in particular, discusses the changes occurred in the educational scene, with prominence for the high school, whose modifications are expressed in the “National Curricular Parameters of high school”. The research took a qualitative approach, guided by the bibliographic research and documentary analysis.

Among the main results obtained, note that one of the strategies to meet the international recommendations is to adapt the Brazilian policies with the purpose of adapting the educational system to the productive process, transforming the schools in institutions of learning centered on the student, on the teacher and in the efficient management, on the other hand, we are witnessing a renunciation of the school content, replacing the theory in practice.
