Gessica D’Agostino, Ud’Anet S.r.l. (Italy)

Abstract

DigitSchool project was implemented by Ud'Anet, company expert in new technologies and digital, CINECA Interuniversity Consortium, and Infobasic, training agency accredited by the Region of Abruzzo. It started from the analysis of the critical issues in the implementation of the PNSD (Review of the Italian Digital Strategy for Schools, CERI 2013), in order to:

- implement training programs and environments that could favor the collaborative dimension and render the teachers proactive protagonists

- create a student-centered template of digital school

- innovate school learning environments by ICT and digital.

To this end, DigitSChool developed a training model to enhance teachers’ professionalism and create a community of "Digital Ambassadors", teachers experienced in educational innovation and able to identify problems, make decisions quickly, develop hypotheses, design action plans and share practices with the colleagues.

It was articulated in:

- designing and developing a platform for testing innovative methodological models

- a blendend  training structured in:

•   a Summer School (15 meetings, 120 hours face-to-face and 40 online) for 43 teachers from 23 Abruzzo Region school
•   23 peer education courses (4 meetings, 16 hours face-to-face and 24 online), activated by the Digital Ambassadors in their respective schools for 546 colleagues.

The project built learner-centered environments in order to provide teacher with incubators in which their community would gradually evolve in educational and organizational research community as well as with spaces where they could meet each-others in order to exercise their expertise in designing learning environments for their students, experience the creation of digital contents and gain awareness of their strategic role in the enhancement of students’ cognitive, relational and motivational processes. The platform activities have gained 24.24 accesses, 3.035 digital resources uploaded, 379 WebQuest created, 480 Evaluation Rubrics created and 347 discussion schoolrooms, reaching a total of 644 users.

An experiment was carried out within the PhD in E-learnng, development and delivery of the G. d' Annunzio University of Chieti - Pescara for participatory planning in blended modality (crowdsourcing, online questionnaires, co-design events, collaborative editing) of a proposal for implementing a students’ platform interface.
