Strategies for the use of Screencast in a University Environment

Abstract
The emergence of communication and information technologies has significantly transformed the way we live, communicate, work and therefore the teaching methodologies. This new environment requires a critical and thoughtful analysis.in order to lead properly the effort in the teaching, learning and communication with the student using new technologies. Current students will spend all of their professional and personal lives immersed in a digital society. So, educators must be able to merge classical and new emerging technologies Therefore, the correct operation of the technological tools and the learning of how to use them with the maximum benefit is one the core fundamentals in the referred techno-educational process. From this point of view, the techno-educational resources designed have to be accessible, portable and maintainable, in order to provide answers to current necessities. Learning objects can provide learners an engaging learning and student-centered experience in both traditional learning and new settings. Polytechnic University of Valencia is pioneering in the development and use of new teaching tools that can help student in the knowledge generation. One of these tools is the use of learning modules, specifically the screencasts. The balance of traditional pedagogical methods and the effective use of technology is one of the keys to foster learning. From this perspective and based on the experience gathered by the signatories of this work focuses on educational screencasts. The topics explored include an overview and analysis of screencasting, benefits, planning tools, in order to create screencasts.
