Abstract
The human society has developed to an ecological civilization from the industrial civilization in that modern ecology has witnessed the transformation and expansion from the stage of logical relation between living organisms and their environment to the stage of logical relation between human beings and nature as a result of the development of the global environmental protection movement since the sixties and seventies of the 20th century. Eco-writing, as a milestone achievement of the ecological civilization, is a dynamic and harmonious approach of interaction and interconnection to cross-cultural writing as adaptation and selection from multi-dimension and multi-level perspectives[1-3]. The basic theoretical framework of eco-writing shall not develop without the theory of writing as adaptation and selection.
The basic theoretical framework of eco-writing is made up of three different levels—macro view:ecology of writing, medium view:theory of eco-writing, and micro view:study on eco-writing discourse. Ecology of writing is supposed to establish the writing ecological system from a macro point of view in order to analyze and construct the writing ecological structure, and integrate the studies on the related disciplines according to the rationality of eco-writing. Theory of eco-writing can focus on the realization and understand of the nature of writing, description of the writing process and determination of the writing criteria from the medium point of view. Study on eco-writing discourse may pay more attention to the influence and control of the text generation from such perspectives as the macro ecological rationality, the whole writing ecological system, the interpersonal writing community from the micro point of view.
Relatively speaking, the complete ecological writing theory could not be realized without the basic theoretical framework of eco-writing. The basic theoretical framework of eco-writing shall develop from a smaller to a bigger, from a part to a whole, from a less unsystematic to a more systematic. It is the trinity of the three levels of eco-writing, their interactions and embeddednesses that serve as the main body of the ecological writing discourse system.
