Abstract
The topic of Performance Indicators (PIs) is very famous and is considered a very sophisticated application within the field of quality audit of higher education institutions. Moreover, PIs represent keys and robust procedures to assess the continued advancement of institutional performance. In this context, they reinforce the quality of teaching and learning of higher education institutions (HEIs).
In fact, the problem of assessing the properties of the performance indicators is very necessary, critical and essential for adopting an applicable, sound, and constructive methodology to assess the PIs.
This paper examines some important quality properties of performance indicators. In order to assess the properties of PIs, a questionnaire was modified and distributed to 77 faculty members of several HEIs in the Sultanate of Oman to measure the feasibility, reliability and validity of the proposed PIs. It also examines the Cronbach’s alpha reliability and Cronbach’s alpha, if items are deleted from the instrument. Findings, conclusions and recommendations were then reported.
