Didzis Stāvausis holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and in 2015 obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences in Valmiera, Latvia. He has also spent a semester in Kazakhstan and a post-graduate semester at the Paris School of International Affairs, Sciences Po. Currenty he works in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia.
Academically Didzis is interested in the functioning of the state funded pension scheme and its influence on the social human security in Latvia. He argues that financialy literate society is a prerequsite for successful operation of the current pension system. As a research assistant of the Economic, Social and Humanities Research Institute of the Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences he is involved in the state research programme EKOSOC-LV „The trajectories of social and political transformations in Latvia in the post-crisis period”
