Manager of Transnational Projects of Training and Education Innovation in the Fundación General Universidad de Granada Empresa and expert in methodologies of talent assessment. Recognised by the European Excellence Network PRIME for the development of part of her research career in the Manchester Business School (MBS).
PhD in Sociology by the University Complutense of Madrid and the Spanish Research Council (2010). Honoured with the degree in Political Science and Sociology (University of Granada (2005) and a Master Specialist in Applied Social Research and Data Analysis by the Centre of Sociological Research (2007). She has participated in numerous research projects, both national and international, in the area of higher education and employment. She has presented papers and lectures in international conferences and seminars. She is author of diverse international publications, among which it is of note the article “Knocking down some assumptions about the effects of evaluation systems on publications” in Scientometrics (2010) and the book chapter “Evaluating the impact of the Spanish Research Evaluation System on national scientific production (1980-2005): the application of a quasi-experimental design” in Hebe Vessuri, Pablo Kreimer, Antonio Arellano y Luis Sanz-Menéndez (eds) Production and Reflection on Science, Technology and Innovation in Latin America. Caracas UNESCO-IELSAC (2010).
Carmen Osuna team has long experience in the management and development of transnational, national and regional projects in the area of training of transversal skills in high qualified human resources (University students, graduates, PhDs, doctoral holders and professionals of SMEs and start-ups) and employability. Also, she is experienced in the design and management of specific corporate training courses for the business development of young SMEs in the territory and knowledge based companies inside the University. Within the Foundation she has developed many research project oriented to design new methodologies of action learning to train students and professionals in innovation skills.
Between October 2010 and March 2012 she participated in the project CORE - Qualification, Opportunity and Recognition for the Employability, under the Operational Programme of the European Social Fund 2007-2013 for the European Employment Strategy for Andalusian region. The project’s goal was to create a network of entities working on the improvement of recognition, assessment and support instruments for a better prior learning acquisition, transversal competences and the employability. Under the European Strategy 2020 for the cross-sectorial cooperation in social inclusion and labour integration, she participated, between June 2012 and September 2013, in one of the 4 European Pilot Projects funded by the European Commission Directorate General of Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion. This project, GoodWorx³ - Identifying and Promoting Good Practice in Cross-sectorial Cooperation and Social Impact Assessment for Inclusion, Employment and Development aimed to contribute to social inclusion and labour market integration of disadvantaged groups by fostering dialogue and cooperation between public authorities, companies and social enterprises in particular.
Under Lifelong Learning Programme she is currently specially focused on developing and training transversal skills and entrepreneurship skills, with a great interest for their assessment using innovative methods. In terms of technologies and methodologies, she has also great experience in applying ICT to the most innovative learning and teaching methodologies.
In that context, recently ended the project PROPOUND - Developing a Key Competences Model for University Postgraduate Programmes, which FGUGREM coordinated from October 2011 until September 2013. This project designed an innovative curricular strategies and tools in university postgraduate programmes that respond to labour market needs and promote the development, assessment and certification of key competences of the graduates benefiting from these programmes. In September 2014 it was ended the project EU-USR - Comparative Research on University Social Responsibility in Europe and Development of a Community Reference Framework, in which we have participated. This project led to create a European model to enhance social responsibility of universities in a long-term perspective. (http://www.eu-usr.eu/).
Also, in October 2014 it was concluded the project Money Master - Improving Financial Literacy among youngsters, a serious game that has been created to train and improve financial competences of young people from 13 to 18 years old (http://www.moneyms.eu/).
Regarding to the projects currently in progress, under LLP - Development Of Innovative ICT-Based Content, Services, Pedagogies And Practice For Lifelong Learning (Key Activity 3), she is coordinating the project i-Skills- Fostering Innovation Skills as Key Competences for improving Employability of PhDs in SMEs. This project is aiming to develop an e-assessment methodology to train and assess the key transversal competences for innovation, addressing particularly PhD holders and students, in order they improve their employability in the business sector (http://www.i-skills.eu/).
Moreover, she is participating as a partner in the project i-HRM - Inclusive Human Resources Management Practices for Older Workers, aiming to develop an m-learning course for HR managers in order they can design and implement inclusive Human Resources Management for older workers (http://i-hrm.eu/).
Finally, in collaboration with the University of Sheffield, she is implementing the project I-BIS Innovative Business Growth Incubator for Start-ups (Agreement number – 2015-1-UK01-KA202-013489) with the objective of enhancing the support provided by incubators to start-ups through the development of a new business learning programme based on the European Business Growth Catalyst.
