Richard Hahn is a university lecturer for German as foreign language, cultural studies, intercultural communication, and negotiation techniques.
He graduated in Slavonic studies from the Paris Lodron University in Salzburg in 2007 after an exchange semester at Charles University in Prague. He is an IPMA-certified project management associate and trainer in adult education and has a background in web design and videography.
Since finishing his studies, Richard has been active in the field of language education for ten years, starting off as a teacher in the Czech Republic and Spain. In Barcelona he was promoted to Head of Studies, guaranteeing the academic well-being of over 700 students of English, French, German and Spanish.
In 2012, Richard took over the position of managing director of the Austrian Institute in Ljubljana, where his responsibilities included the economic and professional management of the institute.
Between 2012 and 2014 Richard established a second location of the institute in another Slovene city and started offering individual lessons via Skype.
Richard organized several Austro-Ukrainian summer schools in the city of L’viv, bringing together students from both countries to get to know their respective cultures and languages.
Throughout his career, Richard has been involved in several e-learning projects in the language school field, which included setting up moodle platforms and designing interactive exercises for L2 learners.
Currently Richard is working on a series of video tutorials aimed at advanced learners of German.
