Gyorgy Andor is the dean of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences (GTK) at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME).
Gyorgy graduated in Engineering at BME, then in Economics at the Corvinus University of Budapest. He also received dr. univ. degrees from both universities. He got his PhD in Economics from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics.
His been working for Budapest University of Technology and Economics for 20 years. Besides the dean position he is the head of department of Finance, as well.
Now, he is an associate professor. He teaches Business Economics and Public Economics courses in the Master of Business Administration, the Accounting, the Marketing, the Finance, the Leadership and Organization, and the Engineering Management master programs.
His main research area is corporate finance.
He is member of several scientific committees and boards, and often presenter at international conferences. He is one of the members of the Doctoral Council of Doctoral School in Business and Management at BME.
Gyorgy is also an expert in higher education. He has made several proposals and advisory reports for the Ministry of Higher Education, mostly focusing on the financing aspects of higher education. He had numerous university management positions: vice-rector, vice-dean, Member of University Senate, Member of University Economic, etc. He was responsible for the financial affairs of Budapest University of Technology and Economics until 2014.
He published books and journal articles, e.g., in journals like Acta Oeconomica, Emerging Markets Review, Energy Efficiency, Engineering Economist or Quantitative Finance.
