Ana Cruz

Dr. Ana Cruz is a multiple award winning marketer with over 15 years international experience in public, private, commercial, non-profit and environmental sectors. In her last industry role in the UK, she was responsible for marketing, communications and engagement at the Waste resource and Action program (WRAP). WRAP is a charity that works with governments, businesses, communities, thinkers and individuals to support more sustainable economies and society. She was responsible for the Construction, Local Authorities and Recycling Industry working on behavioral change campaigns to encourage waste reduction and increase recycling. Prior to that role, she worked for Tata Steel Europe (formerly known as British Steel) as a Marketing Communications Manager, Brand Manager and Product Manager. She has also worked as a product designer in the events, exhibitions and packaging industries in her native Colombia. Ana lectured at Manchester University and the University of Salford in the UK, currently she is a lecturer in Marketing at The University of Sheffield, international Faculty City College in Greece since 2010. Ana is also a researcher and one of the academic coordinators in the JEMSS project, a European founded project aiming to develop a joint European Masters in Digital and Social Marketing. The project is being delivered by an international partnership between the University of Salford (United Kingdom), University of Lodz (Poland), Kaunas University of Technology(Lithuania), University of National and World Economy (Bulgaria), the University of Sheffield international Faculty City College (Greece) and specialist digital recruitment agency, The candidate (UK). The partnership recently designed and delivered a pilot Massive online open course (MOOC) in digital and social media marketing reaching over 14,000 students worldwide.

Ana’s research interests includes brand strategy, B2B branding, marketing communications, personal branding, brand building through social media, viral content, social media and green marketing.
