Sandro Bencini is the founder and the owner of On Video, a startup located in Florence, whose main purpose is to develop and apply innovative web learning systems.
Sandro graduated in Economics from the University of Florence in 1999; he earned a Ph.D. in Mathematical methods for Economics from the Bocconi University (Milan), followed by a 3 years fellowship in Quantitative methods for Economics.
Sandro’s versatile career begins inside of the Tuscany Confindustria system, first as senior researcher at the regional Study Center and then as “Arezzo Best Performers” project manager. In the first experience, he has developed several projects from the technical, organizing, communication and budgeting point of view; among others issues, he has studied the impact of intellectual human capital on SMEs competitiveness, has analysed the local systems competitiveness through a regional benchmarking over EU countries and has statistically estimated the economic trend of the Tuscany industrial sector. In the second experience, he has managed a group of entrepreneurs, managers, consultants and politicians, whose objective was the development of innovative business opportunities of the “best” Arezzo firms operating in knowledge-based sectors; beyond his managerial role, Sandro supported the group by carrying out SWOT and feasibility analysis, business and marketing planning, skill needs assessment and team building activities.
In those same years, he has cultivated his passion for teaching by obtaining several annual contracts to teach General and Financial Mathematics at the Bocconi University, then a contract to teach the same subjects at the University of Parma and finally a 5 years training contract by Change Training & Consulting Spa to teach courses in Financial Analysis for private and corporate banking workers.
Occasionally, Sandro has also worked as a freelance consultant for industrial and financial companies, mainly in the forecasting and marketing research areas.
In 2012, Sandro quits all the previous activities to concentrate his strengths on the “Matematica On Video” project, whose object is to develop innovative web learning services in Mathematics and other scientific subjects for university students. In January 2013 he has founded the startup On Video just to support this project.
