Margarita Christoforidou is an Assistant Professor in Educational Leadership and Evaluation and the Director of the MSc in Educational Leadership and Management at the Cyprus International Institute of Management (CIIM). She holds an MA in Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment from the Institute of Education, University of London and a PhD in Educational Management and Evaluation from the University of Cyprus.
Margarita has worked for several years as a primary school teacher and since September 2012 she is the Director for the MSc in Educational Leadership and Management at CIIM. She teaches courses in Educational Evaluation, Educational Effectiveness and Improvement and Teacher Professional Development.
Her research interests focus on improving the quality of teaching through developing and testing different approaches for promoting teacher effectiveness. She has developed and worked in a number of teacher professional development programs focused in improving teaching and assessment practice. She authored or co-authored papers published in peer-reviewed journals including the Studies in Educational Evaluation Journal and Journal of Classroom Interaction. She serves as a reviewer in local and international journals and conferences. She has coordinated/participated in several local and international research projects funded by the Erasmus+, the European Science Foundation and the Cyprus Research Promotion Foundation.
