Zuhair Al-Hemyari obtained his Ph.D. in mathematical statistics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and M. Sc. in Statistics from Department of Statistics, the University of Baghdad, Baghdad, Iraq. Currently, he is a Professor and expert of research and studies at the Ministry of Higher Education, Oman. Prior to joining MoHE, he worked at the Nizwa University of Oman for 6 years and at Baghdad University of Iraq, for more than 24 years. He has been teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs. He has supervised 25 Ph.D. and M.Sc. dissertations and published more than 70 peer-reviewed papers in international journals and conference proceedings. His research has primarily been in single and double-stage sampling techniques, censored data schemes theory and applications, inference with preliminary test, Bayesian- shrinkage, reliability theory and applications, modelling and optimization, data analysis, quality assurance, educational measurements through designing goals, objectives and statistical indicators and implementing the statistical indicators for assessing the institution’s quality/performance and ranking the higher education institutions.
