Prof. Don Kiraly has been teaching at the School of Translation, Linguistics and Cultural Studies of the University of Mainz, Germany since 1983. Most of his academic work has been in the fields of Translation Studies and Foreign Language Teaching. He has done extensive research on collaborative approaches to translator education and he has developed his own naturalistic approach to promoting additional language acquisition in adults, which has been used to teach some 13 languages at the University of Mainz over the past 15 years.
Don Kiraly is the author, editor or co-author of seven books and the author of numerous articles and book chapters. His most important work is A Social Constructivist Approach to Translator Education (Routledge, 2014).
