Nadja Despalj is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Zagreb. She graduated at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in English and English Literature from the University of Zagreb, in Croatia, where she is currently working as a lecturer of English for Special Purposes. She completed her Master of Arts in American English at the University of Zagreb, in Croatia. She is also a mentor of e-learning at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology, University of Zagreb, Croatia.
Her research interests include the changes of lexis through time in scientific texts, audio and video analysis of classroom interactions, the use of e-learning in modern-day syllabi in science classrooms and the use of CLIL and NLP in teaching ESP.
She is a member of the Council of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Rectorate of the University of Zagreb as well as a member of the Center for Recording Achievement of England, UK. She is also the Head of the Humanities and Social Sciences Department at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology where she teaches Scientific English to undergraduate students.
