The Future of Education

Dasha Shalima is a PhD graduate from OISE and a Professor of Early Childhood Education, Sheridan Tech. She teaches courses in early childhood program and system delivery, pedagogical leadership, reflective practice, and qualitative research. Her academic and research work is guided by transformative, emancipatory worldview and critical pedagogy. Her research interests relate to philosophy and ideology in education, curriculum studies, and comparative politics in early childhood education. She is involved in community activities advocating for the profession of Early Childhood Educator and participatory rights of young children. Her international and local experiences inform her research by addressing issues of social justice, equity, and engaged pedagogy. She supports position that childhood is a political concept and her research examines issues of social administration of the child.
