The Future of Education

Jorge Brandão Pereira (Adjunct Professor - Polytechnic) is currently Director of the School of Design (ESD) of the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave (IPCA) and President of the Technical-Scientific Council of ESD-IPCA. PhD in Digital Media - Industries, Publics and Markets variant, University of Porto (2015), integrated in the UT Austin-Portugal program. Researcher of ID+ / Unexpected Media Lab and CAOS groups. Research coordinator in the "The Mediated City" project (AMPS ¿ Architecture, Media, Politics and Society) and Vice-President for Design Ethics of United Designs Alliance. Member of ATIPO Portugal. MA in Multimedia Art (2007) and a BA in Communication Design (2002) at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto. Fellow Erasmus Program (2001) at Muthesius Kunsthochschule Kiel, Germany. Jorge develops his research and praxis in the dynamic discussion between design, communication, participatory media, local cultures and creativity.
