Mikhail Nikolayevich Kuznetsov

Mikhail Nikolayevich Kuznetsov (born July 25, 1940, Osipovichi, Mogilev region, Byelorussian SSR, USSR) is a Soviet and Russian lawyer, legal sciencist and public figure, a specialist in international, contractual, criminal, banking and corporate law, countering raiding and intellectual property. Author of the concept of private international law as an intersystem set of legal norms. Doctor of law, Professor.

In 1952-1960, he studied at the Tula Suvorov military school. In 1960, he entered the Moscow state Institute of international relations under the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the USSR, from which he graduated in 1966. In 1969, he defended his PhD thesis at MGIMO. He worked at the MGIMO Department of international law.

In 1989, at the Kharkiv law Institute, he defended his dissertation for the degree of doctor of law on the topic "Features of the modern development of private international law and its impact on the protection of the results of creative activity: (Theoretical and methodological research)".
Since 1975, he has been teaching at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN), and since 1991, he has been a Professor at the Department of civil and labor law at the RUDN Law Institute. Professor of the Department of state construction and law of the Russian presidential Academy of public administration (RANEPA). Kuznetsov is member of the Moscow city chamber of lawyers.
He worked abroad as Deputy Secretary-General of the inter-Parliamentary Union, as well as as a judge-arbitrator at the London international court of arbitration. Kuznetsov led a group of experts on writing the Law of the Russian Federation "on copyright and related rights". Participated in the development of the law "on the state and legal status of the Russian people". He is member of the scientific Advisory Council and certification Commission of the Federal arbitration court of the Moscow district. Member of the expert Council of the international Affairs Committee of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. Member of the arbitration court established by the Savings Bank of the Russian Federation.
In November 1999, Mikhail Kuznetsov was awarded the order of St. Sergius of Radonezh III degree by Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and all Russia.In 2015, he was awarded the honorary title "Veteran of the RUDN".
