Aurora Dimache is a lecturer at Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology, in the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department. She started her academic career as a researcher and then moved into lecturing. Aurora lectures at undergraduate and postgraduate level and is a programme coordinator for the Bachelor of Engineering (Common Entry) Programme.
Aurora graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the Politehnica University of Bucharest in 2000 and also has a degree in Business from the Academy of Business Study of Bucharest (1998). She received a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology in 2009 and a Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning from Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology in 2021.
Aurora worked in industry in the area of quality, project management and reliability. She also managed European projects in the LIFE, Erasmus and FP7 Frameworks. Aurora is an evaluator of European project proposals submitted in the framework of FP7, Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe.
