Abstract
Within the context of education and its classroom practices, we find several and various methodologies carried out in standard education. In language learning subjects, we use innovation as the flag of the teaching-learning process and therefore, we wanted to contextualize educational innovation by exposing the main currents and trends, in addition to the main authors about innovative practices (Fidalgo, 2011, 2017; Sein-Echaluce et al., 2016; Rimari, 2016, Adell, 2020).
In March 2020, secondary schools had to close down due the worldwide pandemic and classes went online. Teachers had quickly to adapt the contents, methodology and materials from face-to-face teaching to virtual learning. The results of this research have been obtained from the responses of the students enrolled in the subject of Teaching Innovation and Initiation to Educational Research of the master's degree in Teachers of Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate, Vocational Training and Language Teachings in the specialty of Language and Literature. Due to the health situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a confinement and the secondary schools had to be closed and adapted to the new scenario; at that time, our master students were in real classrooms in high schools doing their internships. For this research, our students are asked about the methodology of their tutors in the Secondary Education schools in the wake of the confinement. We asked our students to explain and justify the type of teaching and methodology adopted due to the new situation. The results show that most of the teachers could adapt their classes online by using different and innovative methodologies and materials.
