Chesla Ann Bohinski

Dr. Chesla Ann Bohinski received her bachelor’s degree from Marywood University (Scranton, PA), her master’s degree from Millersville University (Millersville, PA), and her Ph.D. from Temple University (Philadelphia, PA). Her areas of specialty include second language acquisition and applied linguistics. More specifically, she has interest in L2 vocabulary acquisition and technology integration into the L2 classroom. She has presented her research at various conferences including the American Association for Applied Linguistics Conference.

Professor Bohinski is the supervisor of Binghamton University's Department of Romance Languages and Literatures introductory and intermediate language courses and is also the program coordinator of the Master of Arts in Teaching and Master of Science in Education in French and Spanish Adolescence Education. Prior to her working at Binghamton University, Professor Bohinski was a public high school Spanish teacher for eight years. With this experience combined with her doctoral work, Dr. Bohinski dedicates herself not only to teaching Spanish, but also to helping present and future educators identify the most effective ways to facilitate the teaching and learning of a second language.
