Elana Spector-Cohen is the acting Chair of the Division of Foreign Languages and Director of the International MA TESOL program in the School of Education at Tel Aviv University, Israel. She is a senior lecturer of English for Academic Purposes (EAP) in the Division of Foreign Languages and instructor of Curriculum Design and Materials Development in the TESOL program. She has also worked on numerous testing and professional development projects for the Israeli Ministry of Education and Culture. Her main areas of interest are English for academic purposes, curriculum and materials design, technology and language learning, telecollaboration, and educational evaluation. She has published articles on testing, curriculum design, in-service professional development and the integration of technology in education. Presently, she is a partner in the international ECOSTAR project (English as the Cornerstone of Sustainable Technology and Research), funded by the EU-TEMPUS (Trans-European Mobility Program for University Studies) program. She leads the work package responsible for designing a national (Israeli) EAP curriculum aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
