The Role of Virtual Lab in Professional Training for Pre-service Biology Teachers and Engineers Student

Abstract

Virtual laboratory occasionally replaces traditional classrooms due to rapid advances in computer technologies. The Virtual Lab is an interactive environment for education including creating and conducting simulated experiments for engineers: a playground for experimentation. It consists of simulation programs, experimental moduls, different tools that operate on objects. This paper presents possibilities of  virtuallab in the development of professional knowledge and skills of  pre-service biology teachers and engineers student  in Sofia University "St. Kl. Ohridski" and Technical University of Sofia. In the article reviews the state-of-the-art in the conceptual models that underpin of virtual environment for education. The article presents the conceptual framework of virtual lab in specific educational context. This report has sought to address the methodological and the evaluation design of virtual lab for students. For the learners'  survey we include questions to determine the profile of the students in terms of motivation for learning; learning style; the level of learning experiences; preferred ways of receiving feedback.
