Application of Scientific Laws of Nature to Science Teaching Methods

Moffat Simwinga, Kwame Nkrumah University (Zambia)

Abstract

Nature is governed by laws, the laws of nature are obeyed by nature. Surely it can be logically reasonable to say that nature owes it's success to these unchanging laws, however concrete or plastic we place beneath a plant, a determined root will find its soil, however thick the darkness we place above a plant, it will grow it's way to find its light. Could success in science teaching method be determined by certain constants. Not to temper and destroy flexibility and innovation but could mother nature show us certain paths, that if understood and obeyed, lead to success .These I have termed the basis constants (BC). An example is flendlich adsorption isotherm to render success to the students application of the science to their environment.it has the following variables, (x/m) representing a particle adsorption on a surface and which logically in this context I have related to the students application of science to his environment, (P) for the pressure which I have related to the teachers pressure upon the student to be more scientifically involved and lastly the (T) a representation of temperature which is kept constant. The curve of (x/m) to (P) is a straight line at constant temperature . Amazingly the law states that if the temperature is raised, the rate of particle adsorption becomes independent of the pressure , that is to say in application that when (T) is raised, the learner no longer has to be pushed or pressurized by the teacher to be more scientifically involved but rather is self actualized, self motivated to do so.. our efforts then in methods is to discover what is (T). What can be raised to enable this self adsorption effect on the learners, it could be many things that have been contributed in this platform. I have ascribed (T) to an opportunity based responsibility , which if raised will initiate an elevated mindset of research and discovery . The fixed law then has not destroyed innovation and flexibility but rather shown us what our effort should aim to achieve. This can help us strategically direct funds and resources to achieve our end. Scientific laws of nature are not invented , they are discovered, they if not all, logically applied in teaching methods will prove to be successful. Others examples of laws I have applied and will explain are ficks law of diffusion and the Laplace equation.
