Dr. Kovatcheva is an Assoc. Prof. at the University of Library Study and Information Technologies (ULSIT) She is a Scientific Secretary of the Dept of Information Science and UNESCO Chair ICT in Library Studies, Education and Cultural Heritage of ULSIT.
Her background is in telematics applications and learning approaches in education, and training; adaptive learning systems. Her areas of interest are Interdisciplinary applied research and innovation, Digital Repository, Information, Knowledge and Innovation Management, and applying of the ICT and Cloud Computing in Education (supported by EQF and e-Competence Framework).
Dr. Kovatcheva has participated in more than 30 EU and National projects for transfer of innovations in ICT in education and smart services. In more than 40 papers and seven students’ textbooks, she has shared her experience in applying the ICT under the specific objectives.
Eugenia has specialised at Twente University, The Netherlands, was visiting lecturer at the University of Electro-Communication, Tokyo, Japan, and Academy Kokshetau, Kazakhstan
Eugenia is co-chair of EDUsummIT’17 – the fifth International Summit on Information Technology (IT) in Education with theme “Rethinking learning in a digital age”.
Areas of expertise: e-learning, Digital Repositories, Knowledge and Innovation Management, Competence-based learning.
