Mohamad Sattar is a senior lecturer in the Department of Innovation in Teaching and Learning, Faculty of Education, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia since 2012. His academic journey began with a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering in 1987 and a Bachelor of Education with Honours in Technology and Education (Mechanical Engineering) in 1996 from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).
Obtain a Masters and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Industrial Engineering & System from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in 2004 and 2010. His career began as a lecturer from 1987-2012 in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at several polytechnics.

Besides, as a senior lecturer in the field of specialization TVET, he was also appointed as a coordinator of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) at the university level. His excellence as a dynamic academic expert also recorded the recognition, he has won the Community Involvement Award at the Council Quality Award in 2015 as an academic with a very active community involvement program in 2015. He has also won several gold and silver medals prizes in Innovation in Teaching and Learning from years 2014-2016 as a result of innovation in STEM programs. At the international level, he won the Gold Award and the Best of the Best Award in Innovative Practices in Education and Industry Exhibition 2016 held in University Technology of Malaysia last year (2016).
In addition, he is also a member of the Asian Academic Society for Vocational Education and Training (AASVET. He is also the editor of the Journal of Asian Academic Society for Vocational Education and Training (JAVET). Until now he has managed to produce paper writing in journals indexed ISI WOS (3), SCOPUS (16), journals (11), international proceedings (24) and proceedings of national / regional (5). In addition, he also contributed to the writing of five academic books published by the university. He also became Project Leader for the project of Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS), Knowledge Transfer Program Grant, CLMV Grant (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam) Grant, University STEM Research Fund and MARA Research Grant. In addition to the Project Leader, he is also a co-researcher of 12 research grants of internal and external funds.
In terms of contribution to society, he has been involved in providing training and continuous courses to the community. The results of his efforts in strengthening TVET and STEM education is very clear where he get sponsorship funds from the Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA) to execute STEM Camp for rural schools, funding from ExxonMobil to carry out the STEM Exploration Journey on Sustainable Energy program to the marginalized group and funding from Johor State Government to strengthen STEM Education in Johor Malaysia. Besides that he has also carry out STEM program at the international level, with Cambodia.
