New Perspectives in Science Education

Thomas Waitz, born 1979, studied chemistry and sport sciences at the Justus-Liebig-University of Giessen from 2000 to 2005. After his 2nd state examination (2007) he worked as teacher at the Landgraf-Ludwigs-Gymnasium in Giessen, and received parallel to his work at school his PhD in 2009 in the group of Prof. Dr. Michael Tiemann concerning mesoporous semiconducting metal oxides. In 2009 he was delegated to the insitute of didactics of chemistry at the University of Giessen. 2010 he accepted a position as Juniorprofessor at the department of chemical didactics at the Georg-August-University of Göttingen.
