Chaninan Pruekpramool

Chaninan Pruekpramool is presently a faculty member of Science Education Center, Faculty of Science at Srinakharinwirot University, Bangkok, Thailand.

Chaninan received a scholarship from the Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST) in a project called “the Project for the Promotion of Science and Mathematics Talent Teacher (PSMT)” for both bachelor’s degree and doctoral degree.

Chaninan graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, Kasetsart University, Thailand in 2004. In 2006, she received a Graduate Diploma in the Teaching Science Profession from the Faculty of Education, Kasetsart University. For her doctoral degree, she was admitted to Srinakarinwirot University (SWU) in 2006 and obtained a Doctor of Education (Ed.D) in Science Education (English Program) from the Science Education Center, SWU, in 2011. During the time of study in Ed.D program, as a condition of the scholarship she received, she had an opportunity to be a visiting scholar at State University of New York College at Cortland (SUNY Cortland), New York, USA, and studied there for one year. Chaninan begin her career as a faculty member and science educator at the Science Education Center, SWU, in 2010 until present.

Chaninan is one of the committee of Science Education Association (Thailand) or SEAT and the organizing committee of the International Conference for Science Educators and Teachers (ISET) which will be held in Thailand every year since 2013 until present.

Her areas of research are science curriculum development, learning models for science education, STEM education, assessment and evaluation in science learning, scientific skills, misconceptions in Physics, scientific imagination and creativity, and science communication. Her current research focuses on scientific imagination, STEM education, and science communication. In particular, She is also interested in mobile learning and the opportunity and equality of learners to learn science especially in the remote areas of Thailand.

Areas of expertise: Learning models for science education, STEM education, assessment and evaluation in science learning, scientific skills, misconceptions in Physics, scientific imagination and creativity, and science communication.
