Professor Nikolova is an MA in Russian and Bulgarian philology. She defended her PhD thesis in Moscow. The topic of her dissertation is: Publishing and distribution of Russian fiction in Bulgaria (1878-1912) in the field of bibliography and book history. In 2009 she became an Associate Professor, and in 2016 - a Professor. She has been working at the University of Library Studies since 1989. From 2008 to 2018 she was Director of the Department of Comprehensive Studies. Her research interests are in the field of bibliography, cultural heritage, book history. She is the author of 4 monographs and over 130 articles and papers. Fluent in Russian. She is the manager of several scientific projects on the study of cultural heritage.
